Emeril Lagasse Signs Up to Hallmark

Celebrity chefs with cooking shows continually re-invent themselves with new series.

Think Bobby Flay, Rachael Ray, or Mario Batali: all have moved from one series to the next to keep audiences hungry for their brands of entertainment –- or to prevent audiences from seeing newer talent that could potentially take their places…

Emeril Lagasse is, once again, creating a new show on a new network. He has signed a deal with the Hallmark Channel for a new daily cooking show produced by Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, Inc. It is set to premier in the fourth quarter of 2011 as part of the “Hallmark Channel Home” daytime block according to a press release. Emeril already has shows re-running on the Food Network and he appears on ABC’s Good Morning America.

Sure, there are die-hard Emeril fans out there who can’t wait to get more “Bam” into their lives, but hasn’t the celebrity press machine, powered by food writers and press agents across America, produced fresh talent?
