Chefs Cook for Japan

Sometimes it feels like the world goes from one disaster to another – each one involving suffering innocent people. Our job is to figure out how to use our limited resources best. With the Mississippi raging here at home – it is important not to forget Japan.

Ten celebrity chefs are joining together to support the Japan Society‘s Earthquake Relief Fund. It is an opportunity to feast on fantastic food for a good cause on May 18, 6:30 PM -9:30 PM at the Harvard Club in New York

The chefs cooking for a cause include:

Anita Lo, Daniel Boulud, François Payard, Jose Garces, Julie Reiner, Ken Oringer, Marcus Samuelsson, Masaharu Morimoto, Takashi Yagihashi, and many other prominent chefs.

Super Chef supports this fund raiser because 100% of the funds raised will go to the Earthquake Relief Fund:

On March 12, 2011, Japan Society created the Japan Earthquake Relief Fund, a disaster relief fund to aid victims of the Great East Japan Earthquake. With the funds that have been generously donated so far, they have committed $1,000,000 to four nonprofit organizations in Japan-the Tokyo Volunteer Network for Disaster Relief, JEN, Entrepreneurial Training for Innovative Communities (ETIC), and the Japan NPO Center-all on the front lines of relief and recovery in northeastern Japan.
