This year, the FIRST LEGO League‘s Food Factor Challenge is organizing teams of kids to program robots while solving problems in food safety.
Super Chef attended the Virginia/DC FLL Tournament in Harrisonburg, VA, last weekend. Rookie team Super Nanobot Extremes 2 partook in the competition, along with 96 regional championship teams from across the Mid-Atlantic. They descended on James Madison University for the two-day competition organized by Prof. Dominic Swayne and his students.
The FLL kids undertook a wide variety of fun activities on Saturday, including making Ice Cream, Gingerbread Challenge and Cooking with Chef Reg Foucar-Szocki and a team of culinary college students. The kids got to make quesadillas, meatballs, lemonade, and dessert for their families.
Here is Super Nanobot Extremes 2 in action, performing their skit about their “Therm-Alarm”: congratulations to all the teams!
