At a time when the Haiti disaster is pulling at the nation’s heartstrings and purse strings, is it a hard sell to a campaign to end hunger in America?

Not if you start with two of America’s biggest chefs, Tom Colicchio and Mario Batali.

They are co-producing a film by Tom’s wife Lori Silverbush and Kristi Jacobson, called Hunger in America. The film is part of a multimedia campaign to tackle hunger here at home.

The film is only 20% finished, but here is a sneak-peak for today’s Food Flick.

The project is looking for donations. The FEED Foundation and Vanity Fair along with Tom and Mario are sponsoring two kickoff events. February 21st at Colicchio & Sons in New York, where Tom will be cooking on the wood-burning hearth, and February 28th at Craft in Los Angeles.
