Most chefs would agree that good music enhances the dining experience in their restaurants.
But, conversely, does good food enhance the music experience of a great concert?
Let’s find out.
Catch one of the New York Philharmonic‘s Musical Suppers after your Friday evening convert. Alan Gilbert, Music Director of the NY Philharmonic, will attend the suppers for which he is conducting the concert the same evening.
At the first supper on January 8, Gilbert joined Mimi Sheraton and guest chef Alain Ducasse in discussing the relationship between food and music.
The next supper, with Jean-Georges Vongerichten is on February 12, followed by Lidia Bastianich on April 16, and finally, Daniel Boulud on June 4.
The suppers are prepared by Restaurant Associates and take place at Arpeggio Food and Wine in Avery Fisher Hall.

I just wish I was in a position (location?) to try them out for myself! They sound quite delightful.
